Cram Knitting…

My good intentions/goals of blogging 3 times a week hasn’t been happening lately.  What has gotten in the way?  Busy at work, busy with the kids, and I did have a bit of a bug.  But I have managed to knit a bit so expect a few pictures soon.

One of my colleagues at work is expecting a baby in September and I love babies.  About a year ago, in anticipation of an event like this, I “favorited” the Leafy Baby Blanket by Leyla Alieva  It is a free pattern on Ravelry and I am knitting it out of Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Cotton.  I love this yarn.  It is an organic cotton and is really really soft.  Unfortunately it has to be washed by hand.  But every baby needs a special hand-knit blanket.

Earlier this month I was going to start the blanket.  Then, the  baby shower, scheduled for next Monday, was postponed to August.  So… I worked on other things and didn’t start the blanket.  Last Sunday I wanted to try out the pattern, so cast on.  Then… this week, the shower was rescheduled for back to Monday.  I managed to knit a bit in the evenings, but as of today, Friday, I am half way with 300 yards more to knit.  I knit fairly fast, but with all the other things I plan to do this weekend, I probably need a bit of luck in addition to Cram Knitting if I am to finish and block the blanket.  Stay tuned.
