Steak Salad with Charred Tomato Vinaigrette – Recipe Please
This week I am in Dallas for work and am staying at the Intercontinental. I came in Saturday as the event started on Sunday. Since I arrived early in the afternoon I walked over to Desert Design Knitz (about 1/4 mile) and wandered around. Out of town shops carry different yarns and patterns than my local store. Desert Design Knitz carries Trendsetter Yarns and has a number of samples knit up. The store really is very large and it was great to look at yarn and patterns not sold near my house. I got my yarn-eye-candy fill. Originally I planned to walk to the other store on tonight – but it is 3 miles away and this California girl decided that walking in the humidity and pollen was not for me. I went to the gym instead.
Sunday evening I ordered the Steak Salad from room service and it was fabulous. The description says “Grilled Flat Iron Steak, Watercress, Mixed Greens, Candied Pepitas, and Cojita Cheese with a Charred Tomato Vinaigrette.” Everything was so fresh and the vinaigrette was amazing. I plan to ask about a recipe, but have no expectations that I will get it – next best thing is the internet and I found a recipe that looks promising – Charred-Tomato Vinaigrette. Can’t wait to get home and try it out. Oh, and I ordered the salad for again tonight and it was just as tasty as Sunday.
