Last week, I finished and blocked Alegria by Emma Fassio in ITO Silk and I love everything about it. Emma Fassio is a designer I watch on Ravelry and I knit a couple of Azzu scarf/shawls. I modified this a bit so see my Ravelry Project page if you are interested in the details.
Allegria Scarf by Emma Fassio knit in Ito Kino Silk
I really enjoyed knitting with this yarn. It has a great texture – nubby – and the drape is beautiful. I have knit with silk noil yarn before and love the texture. For anyone who was expecting a “shinny silky” yarn, this is not the one for you.
Like all silk, the yarn does not have much give so a couple of times I tinked back rather than just fix a mistake as the yarn doesn’t have the stretch to easily pull up a yarn over or drop an extra yarn over. Again, this was what I expected.
This was perfect for the Allegria scarf I wanted to knit. I finished and immediately purchased two additional skeins for a scarf I am designing. Next I want to knit a simple sleeveless tee.
